Sneak Peek at Betty Burke
Some of the best shows in Toronto are the tiny ones in venues that aren't really 'venues' at all. One of these was Betty Burke at This Ain't the Rosedale Library. Betty Burke is the latest creation of Maggie MacDonald (Hidden Cameras, Republic of Safety) and in overly simplified terms appears to be headed in a rootsier-Billy Braggish sort of direction. (Though the lack of a rhythm section - at this particular show at least - made it difficult to say exactly)
