Schomberg Fair Preach Their Gospel

I will admit upfront that I am biased -- Matt, Nate and Pete of the Schomberg Fair are good friends of mine, and I've been a fan of them and their band for a couple of years now. But I also feel like this puts me in the unique position to assert that they are 110% deserving of the success I think they'll find with their new album, Gospel, because I've seen how hard they work and I know what great guys they are.

I've had Gospel in my possession for a few weeks now, and I think it's a big step forward for them -- they've grown musically and it shows in the songwriting, and the production (from Chemical Sound) is stellar. Their live show, however, has always been awesome, and you can see it for yourself on Saturday, October 24 at the El Mocambo in Toronto. The Speaking Tongues and the Unsettlers are also on the bill, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better line-up playing in the city this week. Come to the El Mo tomorrow so you can say you saw them back before they blew up.

If you aren't in Toronto, you aren't out of luck; the Schomberg Fair are embarking on a Canada-wide tour during November, with dates across the country listed on their MySpace.
