Bucky Award Nominess Announced!

The short list nominees have been announced for this year's CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards and I have to say you have good taste. This year the nominees were thrown open to fans to do the nominating and list trimming and (in my personal opinion) it's far better than last year's list. Obviously there are a few that I'd like to slide in that didn't make the cut - but that's the problem with democracy, you don't get everything you want. Last year there were several categories where there was no one I wanted to vote for. This year I have hard choices to make all the way down the list.
As usual in these things I'm not going to push for anyone to vote for anyone in particular. I don't even want to say who I'm voting for - with one exception. I'm not fond of the Sexiest Musician category as it has nothing at all to do with music. I had nominated and urged votes for Damian Abraham - just to throw a wrench into the traditional definition of sexy but with Damian not making the cut - I'd urge you not to vote in this category at all. If, after all, the Juno's handed out an award for Sexiest musician - most people who really like music would have a fit. So Radio 3 shouldn't get away with it either.
Anyway, this year's Bucky Award short list goes:
