Guitar lessons with Luke Doucet and Corb Lund
Many websites are now offering "guitar lessons" with your favorite artists via YouTube. A budding guitarist like myself loves to see how the pros do it. Though, it takes me two hours to do what these guys do in two minutes. Here are two lessons that I came across lately from two of my favorite Canadian alt country/roots artists.
Luke Doucet shows us how to play his track "Buttercloud," originally released in 2000 with his surf rock band Veal. The below video is part one. Part two and more lessons from Doucet can be found on the Six Shooter Records page on YouTube.
Doucet plays tonight at Odd Fellows in Woodstock, Illinois. (Ha! I actually know where this is! I have cousins who grew up near Woodstock.)
Corb Lund paid a visit to the popular CBC radio show Q while touring through Toronto in late October. Here he shows us how to play "The Truth Comes Out" from his 2005 album Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer.
Lund and his band are currently on tour in the states. They play tonight at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles.
