Musicians are Welcome (encouraged even) to Contribute to NxEW.ca
I've said this before and it is clearly laid out here but people seem surprised to hear it anyway. We welcome and encourage musicians to write for NxEW. Whatever music journalists may think no one knows more about Canadian music than the people who make it. Most people who write about music (myself included) haven't formally studied music. Many of them (myself included) can't actually play an instrument and some of them (myself excluded and I'm not naming names) have strange ideas about the lives of musicians (such as assuming that if you're headlining a Canadian tour it means that you're financially successful and have left your day job far behind.). So, once more in the chance that a few people see this who missed it before - from our open invitation:I AM IN A BAND / A PROMOTER / A PRODUCER ETC., CAN I PARTICIPATE?
Yes! Conflict of interest rules were primarily created because of business and politics. We're not electing world leaders, we're not helping people make important financial decisions so we don't care about conflict of interest.
NxEW.ca exists because of the love of Canadian music. If you're a Canadian musician, or are otherwise involved in the 'music business' you likely have good information to share. Please do so.

Don't get me wrong, we don't want daily updates on your band's every move, nor do we want you to review your own album but if you want to tell us about tour dates, the realities of the business, life on the road, your friends projects, etc., please come aboard and do so!
