Double Disc Drop in Toronto
The Flying Museum Band and the Big City Nights Band are putting out new
records. Both are set for release on January 30th at Rancho Relaxo in Toronto.
Show promoter Ben McLean posted such an amazing description of the show
on Facebook that I had to post it here. Since he posted it, Miasmata has been
replaced by Megan Hamilton.
......................................
Long time no see, fellas!
Saturday, January 30th combines the release of two brand-spanking new
records from some good friends, a Ranch newcomer that I'm anxious to
check out, as well as the return of the no-introduction-necessary DGfuggin'B.
Come by and say helloooo! You can catch me up on Toronto things like
TTC fare hikes and discounted Doc Halladay jerseys!
----------MIASMATA----------
Brought to my attention by noted indie-goodness bounty hunter Dan
Wolovick, Miasmata are bringing a vanload of classic rock-tinged tunes
to the proceedings as only a band from the Hammer can. Stoked to hear
them live for the first time on the 30th!

----------THE FLYING MUSEUM BAND (CD Release)----------
I don't drag myself 3 hours down the 401 for just anybody, but when
one of my fave bands tells me they're putting out a follow-up to their
stellar 2008 disc, Among The Hurons, you can consider my Greyhound
ticket bought and paid for! I love these dudes and, if you're into The
Band and similar country-rockish delights, there's always room on the
bandwagon!

----------The DGB----------
If Rancho Relaxo retired jerseys, The DGB would undoubtedly be hanging
from those guacamole-stained rafters. Seeing the boys bring their
assault rifle of rock to the Ranch is a rite of passage that should
probably be added to the Canadian citizenship requirements. Sell high
on your Labatt 50 stocks on the 30th, friends.

----------THE BIG CITY NIGHTS BAND (CD Release)----------
One of Toronto's most prolific bands are back with their latest,
'Carry Me Ontario'. One of the few bands I know that seem equally
comfortable producing straight ahead rock and catchy 3 minute pop
ditties (go and check 'The Evil Beat' on their MySpace....something
about it is just Nikolai Volkofftastic in the best possible way).
Whooooo!
