Music is said to have the power to uplift the spirits, and that is what happened last night with Andrew Austin's performance at the Horseshoe Tavern. This four piece band actually called 'Andrew Austin and the Fuss' brought their "A game" to the stage performing their form of soulful folk pop rock

The crowd was alive and jumping to see Andrew Austin perform, and there was a buzz in the crowd, always a positive sign from the audience. The sound quality and the lighting were really good, and that made such songs as, "No Flower", "Just The Way I Feel", "This is Love" have that crisp live sound. "No Flower" actually is there first video ever (seen below), and it's part of a two-song release for the fans.

Andrew's versatile and soulful voice has a little of that Motown vibe combined with an indie folk personality to produce clear sound (closest comparison: John Mayer, Maroon 5). 'The Fuss' brought a solid beat and bluesy rhythm mixed with a funky groove in some songs. They had solid band chemistry as they were relaxed performers playing off each other well, bringing a live

Coming into the show, I wasn't too familiar with his work or history, but made up for that afterwards with a chance to ask Andrew Austin some questions. In reading and listening up on 'Andrew Austin & the Fuss', there's a lot more say about this group and their accomplishments to date, but that's for another day.

Yet the lasting impression on the night was the positive vibes from the music of Austin Austin shining on everyone in the Horseshoe. Seeing the audience sing-a-long with Andrew Austin with everyone having a blast with smiles and fun times.

P.S. Keep in mind that many bands are not able to produce this reaction in a crowd. There's something to be said for a band that can draw a strong reaction from the audience. That's something you don't know when comparing CD records versus the live show.
