Spotlight: We Are The City

We Are the City will convince you with their good hearts and inspiring sounds to come and be a part of their city...

That’s a line that follows after the band’s bio on their CBC Radio 3 artist’s page, and it seems as though the Kelowna, B.C based band has at least convinced the folks at 100.5 The Peak and Music B.C to be a part of their city after rewarding the band $150,000 on Friday night. We Are The City are one of three winners of the first annual Peak Performance Project.

For those less familiar with the band, We Are The City has a population of three, their residents include Cayne McKenzie, David Menzel, and Andy Huclliak. The band has played with the likes of Yukon Blonde, Secret & Whisper, Bend Sinister, Winter Gloves, The Zolas, Said The Whale, and Mother Mother. Their record, In A Quiet World, was re-released this past week.
