J.R. Hewison

J.R. Hewison comes originally from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, where he and his band, The Swindlers, were important in the development of the all-ages live music scene in Prince Albert from 2001 to 2005. At that time, he moved to Saskatoon where he continues to reside and write music. J.R. has performed with and opened for Juno winners Chester Knight and The Wind from the tender age of thirteen, has played numerous festivals including Ness Creek and has written/collaborated with award-winning Metis-Canadian jazz singer and actress, Andrea Menard, as well as These Hands.
