Melanie Shim Melanie is a regular, West Coast girl. Laid-back,
carefree and relaxed, her obsession with Said the Whale has led to
stalker-like tendencies; her need for wistful, lyrical music has made
her vow to see Stars every time they play in Vancouver; she very much
wishes she could go nowhere with Joel Plaskett; and she never really
liked rap until Shad came along. She will not repeat clichéd
statements, such as, "Music is my life," or "I live
to breathe music"; instead, she will just admit that she is someone
who is addicted to attending concerts, buying music and making mixed
