Monashee Sun
A kid in BC in the 80's, Monashee began playing music
early on, exposed to her musician-parent's Psych-folk recordings and
their collection of world instruments, plus the advent of Much Music.
Now a member of Vancouver duo Falcao and Monashee, she's also played
in bands Organ Trail, and It's a Living Thing, sharing stages with
many great artists including:
A Relative Distance, Adjective, Aunts and Uncles, B.A. Johnston, Bedrooms
of the Nation, Bella, Bleating Hearts, Brasstronaut, Brent Randall
and His Pinecones, Buffaloswans, C.R. Avery, Certain Breeds, Collapsing
Opposites, Chris-a-riffic, Fanshaw, Fine Mist, James Lamb, Japandroids,
Katie Caron, Kidnap Kids, Spencer Kingman, Lost Lovers Brigade, Lovers
Love Haters, Like Animals Again, The Magician, Mt. Royal, No Gold,
Nothofagus, Red Cedar, Sleep Holiday, The SSRIs, Steven Donald Robert
Nelson, The Square Root of Margaret, The Wind Whistles, Unreliable
Narrator, The Wintermitts, Zombie Pistolero and His Guns...
When she's not busy with her own music, Monashee hopes to bring more
focus to some of the emerging acts from the West Coast and elsewhere
in Canada.
