Nikki Reimer

Nikki Reimer’s parents met at a Quicksilver Messenger Service concert in Calgary in September 1971. Essentially, she’s psychedelic rock’s love child. Nikki was raised in Calgary on a steady diet of the Beatles, the Doors, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Carole King, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Ginger Baker, John Coltrane, Joni Mitchell .... As a young teen her secret vice was her dad’s subscription to Rolling Stone. An unfortunate stint in junior/senior high school bands led to a falling out with music. However, since moving to Vancouver in 2004 Nikki and music have rediscovered their passion. It was a lengthy period of estrangement. She vows they’ll never fight again.
She also blogs at http://nikkireimer.com and at http://www.schemamag.ca/, and her first book of poetry, sic, will be published by Frontenac House in 2010.
