Neil Young Covered
I am a bit of a cover version collector. Currently, my iTunes shows 1804 songs in the "cover" grouping I created. I like listening to artists trying (sometimes successfully and sometimes unsuccessfully) other artists works and giving their own interpretation. Sometimes I discover that I like the cover better than the original.
I have a few complete CDs of covers of a particular artist, and one I'd like to share today is a good CD of covers from 2007 of a Canadian icon by other Canadian groups: Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young, a followup to a 1994 CD called Borrowed Tunes. Both are double CDs with close to 40 songs and artists on each.
What I like about these types of compilations is discovering artists that I may not have known of. An example for me on this compilation is "After the Gold Rush" by Danny Michel, leading me to seek out other work by this singer/songwriter from Kitchener (http://www.dannymichel.com/newsite/welcome.html).
This is the track listing from the 2007 version:
